The UN Global Compact (UNGC), through its local entity, the Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP) welcomes its new participating companies, namely, Converge ICT Solutions, SGV & Co., Prestige Paper Products, and Nordic Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.
The UNGC is the world’s largest sustainability initiative of more than 16,000 companies in 161 countries. As a participant, companies are committed to meet their fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption as
well, as to help advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The UNGC’s Ten Principles are derived from the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
As one of the 69 local networks of the UNGC around the world, the GCNP helps
companies align their sustainability initiatives to reflect the UNGC Principles and the SDGs. Companies from micro, small medium enterprises (MSMEs) to large conglomerates and non-business entities such as non-profits, academe, associations and others, are welcome to join the network.
GCNP will hold its annual flagship event, the 4 th Sustainability Summit, on November 2022 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The Summit themed, “Scaling Up the 10-in-10 Agenda for MSME Recovery and Resilience,” features, among others, a panel discussion of by-invitation-only CEOs, a plenary of various speakers from here and abroad, and the awarding of the 2 nd SDG Awards.
GMA Network is also a participant of the UN Global Compact.
