In its goal to create an inclusive ecosystem with competitive entrepreneurs, the Prosperity Workstream aims to create a shared economic environment through innovation, resilience, and the development of sustainable micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
For its year one project, the pillar will focus on empowering smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and MSMEs through the utilization of digital tools and knowledge platforms. The intervention aims to increase their annual income by at least 10%.
Emphasizing the vital role leaders play in ensuring an equitable, sustainable, and inclusive business landscape for Filipino MSMES, Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) First Vice President and Chief Reputation and Sustainability Officer and Private Sector Champions (PSC) Prosperity pillar lead, Ginggay Hontiveros, stressed that businesses need to improve business value chain inclusions to benefit MSME recovery and resilience in the country.
“By doing so, we can expand the market access of MSMEs and create more opportunities for them to thrive,” she added.
AEV leads the PSC under the Prosperity pillar that directly benefits the Filipino MSME sector, and is supported by SM Investments Corporation, Philippine Marketing Association, Nestle Philippines, Unilever, ADEC Innovation, Pilipinas Shell Corporation, Subic International Management and Consultancy, Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, and Children’s Paradise Montessori School.
The PSC focuses on financing, supply chain sustainability, business continuity management, diversification, and market access in support of the “10-in-10 Business Agenda for MSME Recovery and Resilience” promoted by the GCNP.
