28 individuals from 12 participant organizations completed the SDG Ambition Accelerator – Philippine Track, joining over 2,000 companies worldwide committed to embedding the Sustainable Development Goals into core business strategy.
Makati, Philippines – Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP) concluded the first-ever Philippine Track of the SDG Ambition Accelerator on 16 June 2026. The graduation ceremony took place at Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2, hosted by the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) as part of its Sustainability Awareness Month.
The SDG Ambition Accelerator is part of a suite of Accelerator programmes available to participating organisations of the United Nations Global Compact. Since 2019, the SDG Ambition Accelerator has engaged over 2,000 companies across more than 60 countries. The programme is designed to move companies beyond incremental progress, helping them embed the Global Goals into operations in ways that build long-term business value and resilience. It is the first time GCNP has facilitated the programme locally.
“Bringing this program to the Philippines and adapting it to the local context ensures that companies are not just benefiting from a globally developed curriculum, but are learning alongside peers who face similar market challenges, operate within the same regulatory environment, and share a common goal of ensuring long-term business sustainability. That collective learning experience is what transforms this into a true community of practice, one built specifically for Philippine business,” said Melissa Vergel de Dios, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Global Compact Network Philippines.
The June 2026 cohort includes 28 graduates from 12 private and non-government organizations across water utilities, consulting, maritime, and fintech. These organizations range from small businesses to large public companies: Arthaland, Envirocycle, GetMeds, Mynt, Isla Lipana and Co. (PwC Philippines), Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Manila Water, Nickel Asia Corporation, PTC Group, Rosehall Management Consultants, San Miguel Corporation, and Shiang Shang Electronics.
“The programme shifted our thinking from simply meeting regulatory requirements to actively contributing to a sustainable circular water economy,” said Al-shaimah Alonto, Regulatory Affairs Department Head at Clark Water Corporation and SDG Ambition Accelerator graduate.
GCNP will open applications for the next cohort of the SDG Ambition Accelerator later this year. For the first time, participation will be open to organizations that are not yet participants of the UN Global Compact. Interested organizations may contact secretariat@gcnp.org.ph to receive updates on programme dates and application details.
